Optometrist needed:
Opportunity to join The Optical Factory and Hearing Clinic as an Optometrist on a full- time basis.
Role overview:
As an Optometrist at The Optical Factory and Hearing Clinic, you’ll get to work with small independent team in a family run business environment. Support staff will conduct all Visual Fields, Retina Photography and OCT imaging. Your passion for optometry, will be supported by our Vision to provide the best quality products and service which is value for money for our customers, maximising their lifestyle through appropriate eyecare and eyewear solutions. Customers come first is our policy, in our stores.
Who are we?
We are The Optical Factory and Hearing Clinic – an award winning independent Optometry and Audiology practise in East Kilbride.
The business has gone through a period of change and growth, and we have Audiology branches in Kilmarnock and Paisley.
Since 2012 we have led the way by running visual stress clinics that test both children and adults for a Visual Stress, working alongside a team of Orthoptists.
The company also feel very strongly about CSR and conduct fee eye tests along with providing free spectacles to school children in some of the poorest areas of Kenya. We also run clinics to educate on eye care in schools and local communities throughout the year.
Who is the perfect candidate?
Basic salary £50,000(subject to your experience and location)
- Experience in testing patients’ eyes and eyesight whilst providing specialist recommendations on appropriate eyecare or eyewear solutions.
- Great communication and rapport building to translate professional terminology into language understandable to patients.
- Teamwork with colleagues across the whole store team.
- The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations in a fast-paced retail environment.

- Work pattern is 5 days out of 6, Monday to Saturday, finishing at 2pm on Saturday’s.
